Copperhill Opry
Built in the early 1900s, and located in Copperhill, Tennessee, this historic facility presents the perfect aura for the performing arts to the surrounding area. During the 1960s, this was home to a valid part of the direction music would take around the world. It was "THE" place to be on Saturday nights for hundreds of teens from 3 major High Schools in two states. Like many others from around the world, Copperhill and the surrounding area produced several local bands who could and did hold their own with the more successful artists you grew up with on the radio. Now a part of the international 60s Garage Band Scene, this was the birthplace for some of the best local bands in the USA, and as much a part of that history as the bands themselves and still known to many as "The Copperhill Canteen".
